We all know that a quality education is the foundation of success for every child. Aside from providing the academic skills needed to succeed in life, a faith-based education nurtures the God-given talents within each student, drawing them out and helping each student reach their full potential. Thanks to the support of nearly 200 generous individuals during last years PIE Giving Day, nearly 40 students are benefiting from a values-based education at one of our Baltimore City Catholic Schools this fall.
As we kick off the 2016-17 school year, we are taking a moment to think about the 2017-18 school year. Can we make the dream of a great education a reality for 40 more families next year? This is our goal today. $100,000 = 40 new PIE Scholarships.
Baltimore City students face particularly challenging barriers, but with your support PIE is changing the odds for children each year. PIE scholars have a 95% attendance rate, graduate from high school at a much higher rate than their Baltimore City public school peers (86%), and are much more likely to go on to pursue higher education (82% post-secondary enrollment). A gift to PIE has the immediate impact of helping generate a new scholarship, and the long term benefit of helping our scholars go on to lead successful lives.
